About

Mitsziko Mote is a  Spring 2003 graduate of the University of North Texas (UNT) Fashion Design program. She has taught and worked professionally in the fashion, graphic and industrial design industries since 2002.

Mitsziko completed her internship with Russell•Newman (a sleepwear designer for companies such as Tommy Hilfiger and Laura Ashley) where she operated the embroidery machine. Immediately upon graduation, Russell•Newman offered her an assistant designer position where she helped create patterns for her designer.

In the fall of 2003, Mitsziko married her high school sweetheart Ty Mote. After they returned from their honeymoon, she decided to take some time off and pursue another art degree. She attended UNT as a master’s of art student for the Spring 2004 semester.

Later that spring Mitsziko was offered a position as a software trainer for Gerber Technology. She traveled the United States for the next year teaching large and small fashion design and clothing manufacturing firms how to use pattern making and product development software.

After a year of traveling and teaching, Mitsziko found herself dreaming of finding a creative outlet. In the Fall of 2005, she found an opportunity to work as an industrial designer with a small product development firm in Denton, Texas called Ocean-to-Ocean.

Mitsziko is now a stay-at-home mommy with two children: Antigone Grey (b. 12/30/2007) and Pierce Lenox (b. 04/20/2009). She feeds her creative passion by providing freelance graphic and industrial design for companies such as Wisteria and J&J Industrial Co. (design broker for companies such as Royal Doulton and Noritake).
